Hamida Kettab
President of FAAPAC
Dear patients, dear families, dear healthcare professionals and valued partners,
It is with deep emotion and immense commitment that I welcome you to our Federation's official website.
Facing the ordeal of cancer, the road ahead can often seem dark and full of obstacles. The disease disrupts not only the body, but also the mind, the family and daily life. This is precisely why our Federation exists: so that no patient ever feels alone in facing the disease.
Since our creation, our mission has been clear and our determination remains intact. We work tirelessly to:
- Support and accompany patients and their loved ones, both psychologically and socially.
- Defend patients' rights to fair and swift access to care and innovative treatments.
- Raise public awareness and inform the wider population about the importance of early screening and prevention.
"The fight against cancer is not an individual battle, it is a collective struggle. Every advance, every smile regained, every life extended or saved is the fruit of a remarkable chain of solidarity."
Through this website, we wish to offer you a space for reliable information, sharing and support. Whether you are a patient seeking guidance, a loved one looking to provide better support, or a citizen wishing to get involved alongside us as a volunteer or donor, this platform is yours.
I want to express my deep gratitude to our teams, our devoted volunteers, the medical staff who fight on the ground every day, as well as our generous donors and partners. Without you, none of this would be possible.
To you, dear patients, I want to send a message of hope: stay strong. Your strength inspires us every day. We stand by your side, today and tomorrow, to push back the disease and let life triumph.
Together, let us continue the fight.
With all my solidarity and devotion,
Hamida Kettab
A union born in the field
FAAPAC was born from the coming together of local associations that were each, in their own province, already supporting cancer patients, raising awareness in their communities, and helping the families most in need in the face of the disease.
These associations realized that united, their action would be stronger: sharing experience, pooling resources, speaking with one voice to institutions, and ensuring patients receive comparable quality support regardless of the province they live in.
From this conviction was born the Algerian Federation of Cancer Patients Associations, a federative structure serving its member associations and, through them, all patients and their families.
Our Objectives
What FAAPAC commits to achieving alongside its member associations.
Federate and coordinate local cancer patient associations across the national territory.
Strengthen the capacities of member associations: training, resources, networking and shared experience.
Raise public awareness of cancer prevention and early screening.
Facilitate patients' access to information, support and care.
Carry patients' voice to public authorities and health institutions.
Develop national and international partnerships in the fight against cancer.
Reduce inequalities in access to prevention, screening and support across provinces.
Our Values
The principles that guide everything we do.
Solidarity
The union of associations and patients as a collective force against the disease.
Dignity
Respect for the patient as a person at every stage of the care journey.
Equity
The same chances of prevention, screening and support, regardless of province of residence.
Commitment
Constant mobilization of volunteers and member associations on the ground.
Transparency
Responsible management, serving patients and their families exclusively.
Hope
The conviction that prevention and early screening save lives.
