The 1st International Congress of the Cancer Patient, held on February 4 and 5 in Algiers, will be marked by a major event: the creation of the African Network for Cancer Control, with the shared goal of strengthening regional cooperation and improving patient care across the continent. This key moment will bring together representatives from 14 African countries including Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, Egypt, Mauritania, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Guinea, Togo, Burkina Faso, Chad, and Niger. By emphasizing cooperation between countries, the network aims to facilitate the pooling of human, material, and financial resources, while developing common strategies adapted to local realities. Under the slogan "Africa... for a future without cancer," this network aims to be a strategic response to the growing health challenges linked to cancer. The objective is clear: to strengthen the capacities of African countries to deal with cancer, enabling a constant exchange of expertise, best practices, and innovative solutions. A program focused on action and innovation The conferences, round tables, and workshops planned during the congress will address key themes structuring discussions and exchanges, with prevention and screening highlighted as fundamental pillars in the fight against cancer. The patient care pathway, care coordination, innovation, quality of life, patients' rights, and the psychological and social impact of cancer will all be central topics of discussion.
