Facteurs de risque

• Chronic viral hepatitis B or C • Cirrhosis, whatever the cause • Excessive alcohol consumption • Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease • Food contaminated with aflatoxins • Smoking

Prévention

• Get vaccinated against hepatitis B • Avoid sharing needles and unprotected exposure to infected blood • Limit alcohol consumption • Maintain a healthy weight • Store food properly to avoid aflatoxin contamination

Dépistage

• Liver ultrasound and AFP blood test every 6 months for patients with cirrhosis or chronic hepatitis • Hepatitis B and C testing for at-risk individuals

Traitement

• Surgery (resection or transplant) for localized disease • Local ablation techniques • Chemoembolization • Targeted therapy and immunotherapy for advanced stages • Management of the underlying liver disease
