Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men after age 50. Its progression is often slow, allowing for effective treatment.

Facteurs de risque

Prévention

• Follow a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables • Engage in regular physical activity • Maintain a healthy weight • Have regular health checkups after age 50

Dépistage

• PSA blood test and digital rectal exam from age 50 • From age 45 for those with family history or high risk • Discuss the benefits and limits of screening with your doctor

Traitement

• Active surveillance for low-risk cases • Surgery (prostatectomy) • Radiotherapy • Hormone therapy • Chemotherapy for advanced stages
